A woodland hideaway
Bulworthy Forest Lodges is a delightful collection of holiday properties tucked away in a lakeside woodland setting near Bideford (2 miles) in North Devon. Close to market town amenities yet immersed in rolling countryside, the grounds are teeming with flora and fauna. Boasting five fishing lakes, this is the ultimate setting for a countryside escape and for enjoying the quiet.
This secluded lodge park truly makes the most of its beautiful surroundings with spectacular lake views. Many properties come with a hot tub, inspiring visitors to marvel at the starry Devon skies above.
Notable features and highlights
Choose one of these traditional wooden lodges nestling into the woodland slope overlooking Webbery Lake. The lodges all feature spacious open-plan layouts; many properties have a hot tub, and all have a deck for outdoor meals or morning coffee.
Most lodges have ground-floor living, with Kingfisher and Woodpecker offering first-floor bedrooms with a balcony overlooking the lake, which is just the best spot for a morning coffee within earshot of gentle birdsong and the whispering of the trees—a most romantic getaway.
Local area
Bideford is an ancient mercantile town characterised by its white houses, long riverfront walks, parks and a gorgeous art gallery (The Burton). For walks, discover the views from Great Torrington Commons (5 miles) or the wild Huntshaw Woods (4 miles). There is also easy access to the South West Coastal Path from the lodge park, for refreshing coastal walks. Local footpaths can be taken for 2.5 miles to the local pub, and there's also access to the Tarka Trail, the UK's longest, traffic-free cycle path offering scenic views and leisurely cycling opportunities.
On sunny days, seek out the beaches of Westward Ho! or Instow, both less than 10 miles away, offering chances to go surfing or to see the wild horses of Northam Burrows Country Park. Beautiful Clovelly, with its steep cobbled streets, old pubs and quaint harbour, is under 15 miles from Bulworthy Forest Lodges. There are also some amusement parks, such as The Big Sheep (2.5 miles) and The Milky Way (12 miles), within easy reach of Bideford for memorable days out.
