Set on a well-maintained holiday park near Crossways, with lakes and a nature reserve just beyond the door, this wood-clad, three-bedroom lodge sleeps six and welcomes dogs. Bright rooms and an open-plan ground floor suit a family with children of mixed ages, or two couples sharing, and a wood burner warms the lounge when the Dorset weather turns. Guests have full use of the park's spa, which has a heated outdoor swimming pool, sauna and cold plunge, along with the on-site gym. A shop and pub are 0.5 miles away, and the site itself is easy to settle into for a week of doing very little or a great deal.

Surrounding area

Dorchester is 6 miles away, with shops, pubs and the National Trust's Hardy's Cottage, once home to author Thomas Hardy.
The beach at Ringstead Bay is 6.5 miles from the park, with Bowleaze Cove 9 miles away.
Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door lie within 9.5 miles, linked by the South West Coast Path and made for a picnic stop.

Living space

The lounge, kitchen and diner share one bright, open-plan room finished in lime green.
Bi-folding doors fold back so everyone can wander in and out during the day.
Settle on the sofa with a book from the shelf, or watch the Smart TV.
The kitchen has a central island with a breakfast bar and two stools, and the dining table sits alongside.
Ovens and a gas hob are joined by a fridge, a freezer and a dishwasher.
There is a WC on the ground floor.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Stairs lead up to the three first-floor bedrooms.
The super-king-size room has its own TV and an en-suite shower room with a WC.
A double bedroom and a bunk room make up the rest of the sleeping space.
The family bathroom has a bath, a shower and a WC.

Outdoor space and on-site facilities

The private deck has a picnic table and outdoor furniture for coffee in the morning sun.
An open lawn beside the lodge gives children and dogs room for a game.
There is parking for one car next to the lodge, with the main car park for any additional vehicles.
Water sports, mountain biking and fishing are all possible on site.
Equipment can be hired between Easter and October half-term, subject to availability and the weather.

Notable features and highlights

The spa's heated pool, sauna and cold plunge are included in the stay, with sessions booked at reception.
A wood burner takes the chill off cooler evenings indoors.
An on-site restaurant means dinner needn't involve cooking.
Dogs are welcome to join the holiday.

Three generations sharing, two couples travelling together or a household of six will all find room here. Anyone keen to spend their days swimming, cycling and walking the Dorset coastline has plenty within a short drive, while slower mornings need nothing more than a coffee and the lake view.
