Keen walkers can head into Lomond Hills Regional Park (4 miles), walking along the Glen Vale and stopping at Glen Vale Waterfalls to view its impressive rock formation. In Falkland (5 miles), Outlander’s filming location, wander through the Renaissance rooms and gardens of Falkland Palace, see its historic real tennis court, then continue into Maspie Den to find Yad Waterfall. Wildlife lovers can spend a day at Loch Leven (12 miles), where red squirrels are regularly spotted, or swap countryside nestled lakes for coastal bliss at St Andrews’ (22.5 miles) independent shops and sandy beaches. Those looking for a traditional distillery experience can visit Lindores Abbey Distillery (8 miles).
Wrapped in warm wood cladding and surrounded by panoramic windows, the main living space feels cosy and beautifully connected to the landscape outside. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has a cushy sofa on the left as you step in and a TV for film nights and catching up on shows. Beside this is the kitchen, with plenty of space to make a spread with local produce, then enjoy it around the table for two, which offers superb rolling views. Beyond the social space, the super-king-size bedroom offers another relaxing spot to switch off, with its own Smart TV and a picture window overlooking the countryside. Each morning, make a hot drink with the coffee machine and head out to the patio to kick back on the furniture and take in the sunrise.
