Escape to the Cornish countryside at this welcoming timber lodge, one of five similar properties set within the 23-acre Coombe Meadow Lodges estate with a deer park. Sleeping four, it's an excellent choice for families or friends seeking a relaxing base near Bodmin Moor and the spectacular North Cornwall coast. The grounds have rivers, lakes and scenic walking paths weaving through them, alongside a wildlife trail, welly walk and fairy garden. Beyond the estate, you'll find plenty to explore, from the Camel Trail (1 mile), an 18-mile traffic-free route ideal for walking and cycling, to the historic church, café and traditional pub in St Breward (1.5 miles). Pick up supplies in St Tudy (3 miles), visit charming Blisland (3 miles), or spend the day exploring the harbour, restaurants and cliff-top walks of Port Isaac (9 miles). Trebarwith Strand (9 miles) is another favourite, with its wide sandy beach and popular surf.
Step inside to a bright, modern open-plan living space where full-height ceilings create an impressive sense of space. Underfloor heating, powered by a ground-source heat pump, keeps the lodge warm throughout the year, while solar panels help provide hot water. The welcoming lounge centres around a cosy wood burner where you can spend evenings together, entertained by the Smart TV. Prepare and eat tasty meals in the open-plan kitchen and dining area, and when it’s time to turn in, head to one of the ground-floor bedrooms – a spacious super-king-size with an en-suite shower room and WC, plus a comfy twin bedroom. This floor also contains a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Upstairs, children will adore the large gated playroom that's fully stocked with toys.
Outside, sip morning coffee or dine alfresco on the enclosed decked veranda, where steps lead down to a private lawn overlooking the estate's riverside areas. There’s so much to keep you busy on-site, including outdoor play areas with swings, slides and a zip wire. You’ll also have access to a games room with table tennis, pool, table football and air hockey, plus a soft-play barn for under-fives. Parking for two cars is available in the main car park, located to the rear of the property.
